Every year, our staff at Halfmarathonsearch.com analyzes the growth of half marathons in the United States. We recently completed our annual calculations and report Michigan to be the 4th highest growth state in the United States (TIED with Virginia) for half marathon growth over the past year, following California, which usually leads the growth rate year after year due to the state size and population, Oregon and Colorado. Michigan added 12 half marathons to their grand total over the past year. Half marathons and other active events also bring revenue to small towns and cities, which can be great for businesses. Great job Michigan for making the top 5, and leading the way in the Active Community!!!
